On November 28, 2015 I participated in the first ever BAY Art Fest hosted by Belmopan Active Youth. The event took place in the capital at the Belmopan Civic Center in the Market Square. The goal of the event is to provide a platform for artists to showcase their skills and also provide a venue for them to make sales. The event was opened to Belizean artists of various art backgrounds including painting, drawing, digital & graphic arts, craft making, music and more.
It was an exhilarating experience as it was the first time Visuals by Glenn Patrick went public with his work, showcasing poster designs and framed art of Belize. The community, family and friends came out to support which made the experience even more memorable. Meeting new artist was the highlight of the event as well as sharing our work with the public.
I also attended this event with my good friends Gerzon Tobar of Inspirati Art and David Smith of InAwe Films. Together we initiated a community called BOOST. The goal of BOOST is to do just that, boost Belizean arts and artists and encourage creativity with Belize. Learn more about BOOST here.
